Xaghra - a true gem of a village!
Xaghra is one of the earliest inhabited parts of Gozo, being home to the Ġgantija megalithic temples, which date back to the year 3600BC, and the Xagħra Stone Circle. Natural underground features such as Xerri’s Grotto and Ninu’s Cave can be found in this town, along with Calypso’s Cave which overlooks the red sandy beach of Ramla.

Gozo is rural in character and less developed than the island of Malta and is known for its scenic hills, which are featured on its coat of arms. The island has many notable natural features, including the Inland Sea and Wied il-Mielaħ Window. There are a few sandy beaches on the island, namely Ramla Bay in Xagħra and Nadur, as well as seaside resorts that are popular with both locals and tourists, the most popular being Marsalforn and Xlendi.
